  • The Ascent & The Descent - in this exclusive new program, director Franc Roddam discusses the different challenges he faced while preparing to shoot K2 and filming the climbing expedition, the beautiful but dangerous areal footage, Michael Biehn and Matt Craven's performances, the film's color scheme, the play that inspired him to shoot the film, Patrick Meyers' play, etc. In the middle of the program, Roddam also confesses that he did not get the support he needed, and explains why he felt the need to change a crucial development in Meyers' play. At the end of the film, there is great information about the many cuts Harvey Weinstein demanded and got, and the decision to sell Roddam's version of K2 to Paramount. In English, not subtitled.
